A local Montessori school is celebrating 25 years of educating area preschool and kindergarten students.

Under the leadership of founder Judy Ruberg, Farmview Montessori Garden, located at 3501 Tylersville Road, offers academic learning and engagement with other children through imaginative play. Students become more independent and confident by learning how to take care of themselves, including learning to lace and tie shoes, sew on a button and clean up.

“We provide children with active experiences as well as academics so they can become well-rounded” – Ruberg

Ruberg, a graduate of Xavier University, is a certified Montessori instructor. Dr. Maria Montessori observed that development takes place naturally with children. Through this natural development, Montessori taught that each child progresses at his or her own pace if placed in an environment prepared to aid and nurture human development.

“We want to instill in children the experiences that will allow them to become lifetime lovers of learning” – Ruberg

At Farmview Montessori Garden, students are taken on field trips throughout the year to Iron’s Pumpkin Farm, Drake Planetarium, Camp Campbell Gard, Keehner Park and Krohn Conservatory. The school serves children in Fairfield, Hamilton, Mason, Middletown and West Chester, Liberty and Fairfield townships.
